About Me

Originally from NC, I now live in the cute little village of Pine Grove Mills, PA in a nice little 1928 Bungalow.  I've been married to my college sweetheart, John, since 2001.  Pickwick, our yorkie, joined the family in 2002 and Toby, our Chinese Crested, joined the family in 2007.  I'm the very proud mommy of two amazing girls - Harper Nicole (born in 2009) and Jillian Elizabeth (born in 2011).

I've had a "dramatic spirit" since a very young age - I loved to read, act out stories, and pretend.  I still do.

I studied Communications and Theatre at NC State (Graduated 2003), then worked a few years before going back to get my M.Ed. in Language and Literacy Education at Penn State (Graduated 2008).

Since 2006, I've worked in the School of Theatre at Penn State.  I'm currently the Theatre Minor Advisor and Academic Records Manager.  I love my job.  Our faculty, staff, and students are world class and I love watching their work while they are here and learning about the great things they are doing outside of Penn State.

I'm very active in our local community theatre.  I was the producer for the 2010 and 2011 summer seasons.  I also led the apprentice program for a wonderful group of high schoolers who spent 10 weeks learning about all aspects of theatre.  I'm currently completing my last year on the Board of Directors - serving as the Immediate Past President.  I'm excited about the opportunities for theatre education that our community theatre can provide.

One of my favorite jobs was teaching young people Theatre Fundamentals at The Arts Conservatory of Central PA.  I'm amazed at how theatre activities can help students in many different ways.  I am very proud of my work with these wonderful young people.

I think the perfect day includes 70 degree weather, playing outside with my family, and a glass of sweet tea.  I love summer.  I love being outside.  I love (attempting) to garden and going to farmer's markets.  I love trying to cook anything on the grill.  I love my crockpot.  I love making homemade bread.  I love flip flops.  I love to read.  I love music.  I love the smell of clean laundry.  I love eating good, fresh food.  I love a good movie.  And most of all, I love to hear my family laugh - those little girl giggles just melt my heart.
